Many people are desperate to earn an extra income, either online as a freelancer, or offline, working from home.
Earning an extra income is certainly possible, as long as you are prepared to put in the work. It's no use reading about great ideas, then just sitting around thinking about them! Where would the extra income come from, if you don't do anything?
Once you realise you are determined enough to make some extra money, it will be that much easier to get started. Don't wait until you're really desperate and can't even think properly.
If it's too late and you are already desperate, go and get a cup of tea or take a walk before continuing to learn about what you can do about your bad situation. You need to relax, and you need to think clearly.
What can you do?
Are you feeling relaxed? Good!
Unless you are absolutely certain that you have come across one really good and proven work from home idea that you know will work for you, you are going to have to try out various ideas and work from home opportunities; you are going to have to have a finger in many pies.
Having a finger in many pies means that you will try out various extra income ideas, and see which one works best for you. How much time does it take to earn an income from it? Is it free to try out? Will you have enough time to try out other work from home ideas while doing it, or will this hinder your performance with the opportunity that you'd like to try first?
How much time do you have?
Just how desperate are you?
Quick fixes
Quick fixes are for the really desperate, and may not bring in a lot of money, but may help tide you over while you give some more time and attention to the other "pies."
Sell items you no longer need - put a sign in front of your house or use online free classifieds sites if you at least have access to the Internet.
Put small posters up in your local store, clinics, or community centres.
If you have enough ingredients, bake some delicious goodies and sell them at the same time that you have a yard sale selling your unwanted items.
Collect some metal scrap items together and sell them to a scrap metal dealer.
Other ideas for those that have at least a little money
Make and sell something at a flea market.
Sell plants, herbs and seedlings from either your front lawn, or at a flea market.
Spend a little on advertising, or a lot of time using free advertising methods, and offer services - nothing complicated - there are many things adults can do that kids can't. Give craft classes, flower arranging classes, or oversee a few children doing their school homework in the afternoons and early evenings.
Extra Income opportunities that take a little longer
Make a larger quantity of items to sell at flea markets, from home, or online from a website.
Join online freelance job sites and offer your writing, researching, or design services.
Write - for your own blog or website, and use Google Adsense and other income generating advertising methods on your pages.
Write more - join sites where your writing can earn an extra income for you, through advertisements on the sites, and various payment structures the different sites have. Sites like Factoidz, Xomba, Triond, and HubPages, are worth checking out.
The most important thing to remember
What you put in is what you get out.
Don't give up, and good luck!
I'm also with Triond, Wikinut and Neobux is great too.
Keep it up - Ayoba :-)
Good tips.
Excellent and practicable tip, Teresa.
Very good tips
I loved this article! If I may, to anybody reading this I'd also like to suggest http://www.magicaldimension.com/freemoneyonline.html where we're giving money back to surfers of our site on a regular basis.
Good article but i must say that all other sites than factoidz are not pleasing for me when talk about revenue sharing
Terrific resources. Another quick cash idea is to list items on Craigslist or use Facebook classifieds. You'll want to keep security in mind but it can be a quick way to make a few dollars for a bill or gas.
